Tips for consideration:
- If you take care of your body, it will take care of you, so provide for the needs of your body.
- Stop interfering and get out of your body’s way – it knows what it’s doing.
- Your body tells you what it needs – learn to listen!
Qualified, trained and certified licensed physicians and healthcare providers
You are your best healthcare and patient advocate. Whenever possible, I recommend finding physicians who understand and practice a Holistic, whole person approach to healthcare. They should partner with you to provide the most comprehensive care available in medicine today focusing on the well-being of Spirit, Mind and Body.
You too must be an equal partner in Holistic care and support the whole person approach. So, in addition to traditional healthcare, below I provide many non-traditional / alternative / preventive wellness options to consider and research further. As with all wellness options, due diligence on your part is important to ensure your provider is trained, certified and/or licensed for the type of treatment you seek. Note that healthcare options that improve your mind and body can also improve your Spiritual intuitive abilities by supporting your body operating at high energy levels.
Chiropractic care
A system of integrative medicine based on the diagnosis and manipulative treatment of misalignments of the joints, especially those of the spinal column, which are held to cause other disorders by affecting the nerves, muscles, and organs.
Physical Therapy
Physical therapists are experts in body movement who optimize quality of life through prescribed exercise, hands-on care, and patient education. They also teach patients how to prevent or manage their condition to achieve health benefits in the long term. Main types of physical therapy include orthopedic, geriatric, neurological, cardiopulmonary, pediatric and vestibular rehabilitation.
Reiki / Energy Healing
A healing technique that works with the energy fields around the body. The therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient’s body and restore physical and emotional well-being. Reiki works on enhancing Spiritual, mental, emotional and physical healing.
Reflexology
Reflexology, also known as zone therapy, is an alternative medicine involving application of pressure to the feet and hands with specific thumb, finger, and hand techniques without the use of oil or lotion.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a system of integrative medicine that involves using needles inserted into the skin used to alleviate pain and to treat various physical, mental, and emotional conditions.
Dry Needling
Dry needling, also known as myofascial trigger point dry needling, is a technique similar to acupuncture. A thin needle is inserted into the skin to treat underlying muscular trigger points for the management of neuromusculoskeletal pain and movement impairments. Dry needling is sometimes also known as intramuscular stimulation.
Acupressure
Acupressure is a technique similar in principle to acupuncture. Acupressure works by applying steady physical force to certain pressure or acupuncture points on the body.
Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is a type of treatment where the provider manipulates the soft tissues of your body to include muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and skin using varying degrees of pressure and movement. Deep tissue massage therapy uses applied sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues mainly used to treat musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries.
Biofeedback:
A technique to control some of the body’s functions, such as your heart rate. During biofeedback, you’re connected to electrical sensors that help you receive information about your body.
Three most common methods of biofeedback: Electromyography (EMG) biofeedback which measures muscle tension as it changes over time; thermal or temperature biofeedback which measures body temperature changes over time; and electroencephalography which measures brain wave activity over time.
Sound, Vibration and/or Frequency Therapy:
Sound frequencies are used to provide treatment for or enhance Spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical healing. There are many machines available today to provide vibrational healing and support, and you can find a wide variety of sound frequencies targeting areas or aspects of your Spirit, mind and body through music.
Diet & Nutrition
Bottom line: You are what you eat rings true; the healthier the diet, the healthier the Spirit, Mind & Body. Nutrition and diet are power forces for health and healing. Like all other healthcare and wellness options, eating a healthy diet is part of self-love and self-care.
“Let food be thy medicine, and let love be thy religion.” ~ Hippocrates.
Choosing the best foods and supplements can be highly beneficial to your health and well-being. A nutraceutical, also called a `bioceutical’, is a pharmaceutical alternative. Examples include natural foods, fortified food products, foods with antioxidant capabilities, dietary supplements, vitamins, minerals and herbals. Nutraceuticals can be more than just a possible supplement to your diet, so I encourage you to discuss with a professional healthcare provider about the potential medical benefits in treating or preventing disease. You get what you pay for – you are supporting and feeding a highly complex, intricate micro-processing, biochemical factory called your body.
Food: For consideration and research; a diet that is vegan (plant based) or at least more vegan, organic, non-GMO, lower sodium, less or no processed sugar, and less or no processed gluten. Maintain proper hydration using the correct amount of water based on body composition, health, activity level, diet, environment, and other factors.
Supplements: I encourage you to consider high grade quality nutraceutical supplements.
Substances: Consider avoiding the use of alcohol, tobacco, or drugs not prescribed by a qualified healthcare professional.
Here is my diet. I am not suggesting you adopt it, but I want you to understand what I do to care for my mind and body that works for me. As always, we are all individuals with different needs, desires and limitations.
I eat a vegan, organic, low sodium, no processed sugar, no processed gluten, non-GMO diet. This is not always possible based on availability such as when traveling or dining out, but I always eat vegan, with the exception of small amounts of honey. My favorite places to eat out are organic juice bars or organic farm-to-table restaurants.

Exercise:
I understand everyone has individual needs, capabilities and restrictions. General guidelines for consideration: exercise 3-4 times per week is a good goal, but some type of exercise daily is best even if it is going for a walk or gardening. Exercise in a way that makes you happy. Just moving your body in a way that brings joy to your life is a blessing. Exercising in nature can be a double bonus.
Sleep:
I understand everyone has individual sleep needs. As a general guideline, most healthy adults need between 7- 9 hours of sleep per night. Many factors affect sleep and there are ways to help mitigate many of those factors.
