Affirmations

Mar 26, 2020

Change your thoughts – change your outlook – change your life.

Affirmations are a beautiful tool to change your mental programming by targeting the conscious level of your mind. They are beyond just positive thinking, self-empowerment, re-programming your perceived truths or changing negative thoughts into positive ones.

Affirmations help establish a new outlook, a new vision for what is possible and an end goal to work towards. They offer new hope and a belief in the future for your life.

Bottom line: Affirmations are what you make them, so make them something that drives positive change into your life.

If you are thinking this is just a bunch of feel good stuff – think again. Clue: some of the most effective people in every walk of life use these, so duplicate what they do to realize positive change in your life.

Note: I specifically did not provide my affirmations or offer examples above because I don’t want to influence your choices. I believe you exploring Affirmations on your own for a match that fits you will have more meaning. Your choices will be what is best for you at this moment in time. So, complete the exercise below and build your own set of Affirmations.

Exercise:

Some simple actions:

  1. Go online and learn about the concept of affirmations.
  2. Then look up and explore:
    • Healing affirmations (Mind & Body: mental, emotional and physical)
    • Healing affirmations for the Soul and Spiritual Transformation affirmations (Spirit).
  3. Journal about any affirmation you find that has significant meaning to you and why, and then come up with more on your own.
  4. Write out your goals for affirmations – the new outlook and change you want to accomplish.
  5. Decide on the ones you choose to start with that target your goals.
  6. Write out your affirmations; make them positive, strong, clear and concise.
  7. Put them on a mirror in your bathroom, on the refrigerator, in your car, at work, etc.
  8. Say them out loud and to yourself every day, multiple times (yes, out loud might seem a little ridiculous at first, get over it, it works and besides, you’ll probably laugh at yourself and laughter is great medicine to overcome barriers)
  9. Once they begin to become part of your conscious thought patterns, take action.
  10. Journal your results and make changes to the affirmations as needed.

Tip: Affirmations are a powerful tool, so when you review the affirmation possibilities online or come up with them on your own, relax beforehand, set aside preconceived ideas, and take a few deep breaths to clear your mind. Then, as you find possibilities, work to understand the meaning they have for you. Finally, pick the ones you just know are right, are drawn to or feel compelled to choose. (i.e. don’t second guess, doubt, analyze or mental spin your choices)

I have used affirmations in almost every aspect of my life with positive results to include flying fighters, business and raising kids. However, this time they had a Higher purpose – I felt my Soul needing them for healing on a deeper level. For me, my new Spiritual transformation affirmations became powerful tools for Spirit, Mind & Body. They became ingrained in my conscious mind and then started to settle into my subconscious. They started to become “me.”
Let your new affirmations become “you” – then let new outlooks and actions change your life!

If I can do it, so can you!
