I meant what I said, I said what I meant. A Soul faithful, 100%

A famous quote from Dr Seuss’ book, Horton Hatches the Egg, provides a lot of wisdom; “I meant what I said and I said what I meant. An elephant’s faithful one-hundred percent!” In the story, Horton’s kindness and faithfulness are tested, but he also reaps great rewards beyond what could have been imagined.

As a Dad raising our kids through extremely difficult times, I would say to them, “I meant what I said, and I said what I meant. A daddy’s faithful one-hundred percent!” As I persevered through these difficult life challenges by their side, my kindness to others who put up roadblocks and my faith were definitely tested, but in the end, I reaped huge rewards as I saw them overcome difficulties and bloom into amazing young adults.

From the kids’ perspective, they realized what Dad being faithful was in their life through very trying times, and I would share with them no matter how hard life became, God’s faithfulness is far greater and within them, always. As you can read in my story, I too, had to remind myself of God’s faithfulness for many years as life dished out intense pain, struggle and fear that took a huge toll on the Spiritual, mental, emotional and physical aspects of my life.

As I went through my spiritual transformation, I realized God and the Divine realm support had been there all along – they never left my side as life handed me tough times and challenging lessons. I also came to understand, my Soul, a Divine spark and extension of God, was always there, too. My Soul had always been a faithful wingman and battle buddy through it all, helping me learn, develop, grow, and eventually experience life altering healing.

So, even though my human kindness and faithfulness were tested, my Soul having a human experience always stayed connected to the Source of all creation, and I, like Horton, eventually reaped great rewards beyond what I had imagined were possible.

Challenge:

  • Journal the kindness and faithfulness you have experienced in your life that had a positive impact on you.
  • Journal the kindness and faithfulness you have provided to others and the positive impact it had on them.
  • Then, reflect and journal: if the impacts of both receiving and giving that I experience as a human being are so remarkable, imagine how truly powerful the kindness and faithfulness can be in you as a Soul, an extension of God.

Tough times, challenging lessons, transformative Soul level healing, great rewards!

Thank you, Horton the Elephant, for this valuable reminder.

If I can do it, so can you!
